The Island

With the Treasure Hunters finally back on the trail and the words "The gateway to the treasure lies within the families" ringing in their ears, the sourcing of close in the Pirate Families Crest began in earnest.

On close inspect of the Family Crests, the Treasure Hunters soon discovered that each Family Crest contained a number or a letter.

There were 12 of them in total and one from each of the 12 Pirate Families and hidden discretely on the family crests:

Members of the now infamous BlackSpot crew worked out that the various numbers and letters when put together as in the above were the coordinates to a long forgotten island with steeped ancient Pirate history. That island among the Isles of Shoals was:
