Brethren Court
"In Development"
The Project intends to allow the community through the Brethren Court to take an active role in the overall Project Development and direction.
The first iterations will be a manual off-chain process with the intention to install a more sophisticated on-chain voting and governance system using various blockchain tools over time.
Project Governance
Consisting of 7 Pirate Lords - 2 long standing Pirate Lords being founders and 5 community members voted in by Gold Kraken holders.
There will be 7 unique pieces of 8 for the first Brethren Court. The initial 7 Pirate Lords will be asked to give an example and or help design their own unique piece of 8 which will be turned into a unique NFT and which will be their access to the Brethren Court.
A Pirate Lord will retain their unique piece of 8 after serving their term and the incoming Pirate Lord will similarly be asked to design their unique piece of 8 before joining the Brethren Count.
Charter of the Brethren Court and the various mechanism on the interactions with the community is still under development.
Pirate Lords
The role of a Pirate Lord is to represent and serve the OTK community and be the direct interface with the OTK Project team. The initial expectations on a Pirate will are as follows:
Sounding Board:
To act as a sounding board for the Project team whereby ideas on development may be run past the Brethren Court before they are released to the wider OTK community
To suggest ideas on development or directional changes for the Project based on community views
Community Treasury:
Raising funds for the OTK community treasury
Allocating funds/resources to align with overall Project development objectives
Authorised signatories on the OTK community treasury
Community:
Operating the OTK twitter account
Social media engagement (Twitter Spaces, Youtube interviews, blogs or articles)
Keeping check of the health of the community
Running community events
Management of collaborations with other projects in the Cardano ecosystem
Governance:
Oversight of proposals on governance
Operating the elections/votes for positions on the Brethren Court
Debate of proposals before versions are presented to the community for discussion and gathering of feedback from the community
Time commitment:
Expected time commitment with 7 active Pirate Lords is relatively low
There may be periods of varied activity with peaks and troughs as different situations arise
The initial proposed term for a Pirate Lord is 3 months and a further renewable term of 6 months.
Benefits:
Lots of alpha and being on the edge of the Project's development
Taking a direct hand and being instrumental in the direction of the community and the Project
Engaging and collaborating with similar minded community leaders to build an unique experience
Being rewarded by seeing the outcome of decisions reflected in the Project and in the community
Unique 1 of 1 piece of eight NFT to record your time as a Pirate Lord in the Order of the Kraken
